Student Account & MU Email

After you commit to the program and submit your deposit, you will receive instructions to generate your Marymount University Email with your MU ID number. More information will be available in January. Your Marymount University email is the official means of DPT and university communication.

Submit Official Transcripts* by July 31

* If applicable. ONLY official transcripts for remaining prerequisite coursework and/or degree conferral are required. If both boxes are checked on your CAF indicating you have completed the prerequisite coursework and degree requirements, we do not require transcripts from you. Consult your Conditional Acceptance Form (CAF).​

OUTSTANDING PREREQUISITE GRADES
We are looking for B- or better grades for outstanding prerequisite coursework.

DPT Clinical Education Requirements are outlined in the New DPT Student Checklist.

Student Health also requires a copy of your health documents. This is noted in your New DPT Student Checklist. Their office does not have access to myRecordTracker; only DPT Clinical Education faculty and staff. If you have not already, you will receive instructions from Student Health () about document requirements.

TUITION & FEES
Marymount DPT tuition and fees are available online.

FAFSA
Complete the FAFSA Application. Your Financial Aid Award Letter will be mailed to you at the address we have on file.

SCHOLARSHIPS
There are a number of scholarships available to support students financially through their studies. Please click on this link to view available scholarships. Please carefully review all requirements and submission dates for any scholarship you may be interested in applying for.

GRANTS
VTAG is a state grant available for Virginia residents. Students submit their applications to Financial Aid via email.

LOANS FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS
Unsubsidized Direct Loan and Federal Direct Graduate PLUS Loan are loan options available for graduate students.

VETERANS BENEFITS

APTA
APTA, the professional organization for Physical Therapists, has a Financial Management resource page available on their website.

Fall Course Registration

• You will be sent the fall schedule and email instructions on how to register for fall coursework in June.
• Classes begin Monday, August 25 and follow the Academic Calendar.

Technology Hardware & Software

COMPUTER HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS

• All Doctor of Physical Therapy students are required to have a laptop or tablet that are capable of running current lockdown browser type of applications (preferably no more than 3 years old).  Some lectures can be viewed on mobile devices; however, quizzes and exams must be taken on a laptop.
• Tutorial sessions are hosted online through Microsoft Teams, and all students are required to have a microphone and webcam to participate.
• All hardware requirements are listed on the Marymount ITS website for Technology Purchases.

SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS
Download required software prior to the beginning of classes.

• Microsoft Office 365 is FREE for Marymount students. This software is required.
• PDF reader software is required.
• Respondus Lockdown Browser is required for completing exams.

PRINTING

The 4040 Center has two WEPA printers available for students to use. To re/load your student WEPA dollars each semester, you will log into WEPAnow.com using your MU log in credentials.

ON-CAMPUS HOUSING

• Walkable to the DPT Program in the 4040 Center.

OFF-CAMPUS HOUSING

Watch for an invitation from the DPT Class of 2025 to join the Marymount DPT Student Facebook page in your email inbox during the spring semester! You’ll be able to connect with current DPT students looking for roommates, learn about housing opportunities and communicate with the other cohorts.

Parking & Transportation Options

PARKING

• Student parking is located in the 4250 Fairfax Garage with the purchase of a permit.
• Permits can be purchased online each semester for approximately $175 (based on 2024-2025 academic year).

BIKING

• Near the Custis and Bluemont Junction Trails, the 4040 Center is easily accessible by bicycle.
• DPT students have access to the 4040 Bike storage room.
• Marymount now has a Capital Bikeshare station on Main Campus for rentals.

METRO BUS

• Both Arlington Rapid Transit (ART) and Metrobus offer transportation to the Ballston Metro, located near the DPT Program in the 4040 Center.

• Metrobus 38B, 10B, 1A, 1B, 22A, 23A, 23B, 23T, 25B, 2A

METRO RAIL

• The 4040 Center is blocks from the Ballston/MU Metro Station.
• The Ballston/MU Metro Station is on the silver and orange Metro rail lines.

New DPT Student Orientation

• New DPT Student Orientation attendance is mandatory.
• Dates: Tuesday to Thursday, August 19-21, 2025
• Daily schedule: 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• Location: DPT Program, Room 230, 2nd Floor, 4040 Center
• More information will be posted in Canvas and sent by email over the summer.
