The University also made its mark in several regional categories:

• No. 1 for Campus Ethnic Diversity (also most diverse institution in Virginia and Washington, D.C.)
• No. 2 for Most International Students (also most international students among all institutions in Virginia and tied for No. 1 among all institutions in Washington, D.C.)
• No. 1 for Undergraduate Nursing Programs among all Virginia private institutions
• No. 17 for Best Colleges for Veterans (third consecutive year that Marymount has risen in this category)
• No. 57 for Best Value

The scores from U.S. News & World Report are determined through several weighted key measures of quality that consist of graduation and retention rates, graduation rate performance, social mobility, undergraduate academic reputation, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources, alumni giving and graduate indebtedness.

We are at the beginning of a new era for this University, one in which we will reach national recognition for our student success, alumni achievement and faculty and staff excellence. These latest rankings prove what we at Marymount already know – our community is incredibly unique, we have something important to offer all of our students and that momentum is on our side. This is great news, and it’s so rewarding to have our efforts recognized.

A Hispanic-Serving Institution Marymount is a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) with more than 25% of its undergraduate student population identifying as Hispanic, and is the only four-year HSI in Virginia. Marymount is also a partner university with TheDream.US, working to support the college aspirations of DACA students.

Success and Tradition with Saints Athletics Marymount has 20 NCAA Division III sports teams and competes in the Atlantic East Conference. Making headlines this past year were the Men’s Baseball team, which won its first-ever conference championship while advancing to the NCAA D-III tournament for the first time in program history, and the Women’s Golf team, which won both the Atlantic East and Centennial conference championships while earning a selection to the NCAA Division III Women’s Golf Championships for the first time in program history. #WeBleedBlue

Raising Graduation Rates Marymount has made tremendous strides in expanding the number of Saints graduates over the last few years. The University’s four-year graduation rate has increased by 7% since 2017, while its six-year graduation rate has also steadily climbed, rising by 5% over the same time period.

Building the Future of Nursing Marymount has the highest-ranked undergraduate Nursing program among all private institutions in Virginia, according to U.S. News & World Report. MU is also ranked among the Top 10 Nursing Schools in Virginia by Nurse.org, and boasts a NCLEX passing rate of 92% (traditional BSN) and 94% (accelerated second-degree BSN) from 2019.
