We have countless alumni working in government offices and international organizations locally, which means you’ll have opportunities to connect and network with these political influencers. When you study Political Science and International Relations at Marymount, you’ll also complete a thesis project during your senior year. Recent graduates have pursued thesis projects on the causes of genocidal campaigns in multiethnic states, pollution in China, the role of environmental nongovernmental organizations, public diplomacy in Iraq, and more.

That’s why all our students take on internships at government agencies, law offices, trade associations, and more. In recent years, our students have pursued politics internships at the U.S. State Department, the Organization of American States, U.S. House and Senate offices, and abroad in locations such as Ghana, Ireland, New Zealand, and more.

In recent years, our students have studied abroad in France, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam. The best part — these opportunities are fully integrated into the program, allowing students to still complete their degree on time while spending up to four semesters abroad.
