Find Your Space: Where Marymount Students Study, Relax and Recharge

At Marymount, every student belongs—whether you live on campus or commute from nearby. Across Main Campus and Ballston, you’ll find plenty of spaces designed for studying, relaxing, working out and connecting with friends. From cozy lounges to fitness centers and dining spots, there’s a place for everyone to feel at home. Explore and discover your favorite campus hangouts!

Prioritize Your Wellness 

Marymount encourages students to prioritize their physical wellness and offers all students access to two on-campus fitness centers:

The main fitness center features locker rooms, strength training equipment and cardiovascular training equipment.

The main fitness center is located on the bottom level of the Rose Bente Lee Center and features locker rooms, strength training equipment and cardiovascular training equipment, including treadmills, ellipticals, upright and semi-recumbent bicycles. The Lee Center Fitness Center is open seven days a week with convenient hours to accommodate every schedule. The secondary fitness center is located on level G4 of Ostapenko Hall and features cardiovascular equipment, including treadmills and exercise bikes with built-in TVs. The Ostapenko Hall Fitness Center is open Monday through Friday, with morning and evening access throughout the week. Click here for a full list of Ostapenko Hall Fitness Center operating hours.

The Wellness Nook offers students a chance to rest and recharge amid their busy schedules

 

The Office of Health and Well-Being offers students a chance to rest and recharge in their Wellness Nook. Featuring comfy chairs, low-lighting, books and weighted blankets, the Wellness Nook provides a space for calm reflection and meditation. The Nook also has a fully stocked wellness cabinet, complete with free hygiene products and first-aid supplies to provide for students in need. Students can visit the Wellness Nook from 8 am–6 pm Monday through Friday.

Find Your Focus at Reinsch Library

The Reinsch Library is a central hub for academic success at Marymount, offering students of all levels access to an extensive catalog of resources, computer labs, printers and private study rooms. Conveniently located along the shuttle route, it’s easily accessible for both residential and commuter students. The library is open seven days a week, with hours from 7:30 a.m.–10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m.–5 p.m. on Fridays, 12–4 p.m. on Saturdays, and 2–8 p.m. on Sundays. Kick Back and Connect in Our Campus Lounges

Several buildings across Main Campus feature dedicated student lounges and study spaces designed to meet the needs of all our students.

The Rowley Hall Lobby is a multi-use space located on the ground floor of Rowley Hall. It features a seating area and study tables perfect for group projects, alongside a pool table and games available for recreational use. The lounge is open to all community members until 9:30 pm, when it is accessible to Rowley Hall residents only via card swipe.

Similarly, the Gerard Hall Lobby is the perfect gathering place for students. Featuring seating, group work tables and a multi-use TV, the lobby is perfect for any student gathering. The Gerard Lobby also features a microwave for use by commuter students and is the location of the Saints24 Grab-and-Go store, which is open 24/7 for community use. The Gerard Hall Lobby is open to the public until 6 pm, when it becomes card swipe-accessible by designated students and staff members. 

The Rose Bente Lee Center also features a variety of student spaces and resources, including group study areas, tech facilities, student lounges, a pool and the University’s main fitness center. The Lee Center is open to students from 7 am to 10 pm daily. For information on specific hours for resources such as the pool and fitness center, please visit the Student Life website. 

Marymount’s Ballston Center features a variety of dedicated student spaces that create a comfortable and collaborative environment for our community members.

These include our award-winning, open-concept student lounges on all six floors where students can meet, study and relax in style. Alongside the lounges, each floor features a stairwell nook perfect for hanging out between classes.

The main student lounge is located on the fourth floor and is perfect for a working breakfast, lunch or dinner. The lounge features booths and counter seating with a refrigerator, sink and microwave for meal prep and clean up. It is open to all students from 7 am to 11 pm. 

Fuel Up in Our Campus Dining Locations

There are a variety of dining options for residential and commuter students across both Main Campus and the Ballston Center.

Gerard Dining Hall

The primary dining area is located in Gerard Hall and features cafeteria-style dining with dedicated breakfast, lunch and dinner hours. Gerard serves a variety of food options to fit every diet, including vegan and vegetarian meals. With plenty of tables and outlets, Gerard is the perfect place to grab a bite and study solo or with friends. Gerard accepts meal swipes, dining dollars, cash and credit cards to accommodate both residential and commuter students. For a full list of hours, see the Gerard Dining website

Bernie’s 

Bernie’s is a casual, grab-and-go dining spot located in the Lee Center specializing in grilled cuisine, including burgers, wings and tacos. The cafe features a dining room with a variety of booths and a stage to accommodate student gatherings and presentations. Bernie’s is the perfect lunch date or late-night study spot as it is open Monday through Friday, 1–10 pm. For more information on Bernie’s, visit the Dining Services website.

Saints24 is a quick and convenient dining option for all community members

Grab and Go, Saints24

Located in Gerard Phelan Hall and powered by Amazon’s Just Walk Out technology, Marymount’s checkout-free convenience vending shop is the first in the U.S. to be launched at a university. Students can help themselves to prepackaged meal options, drinks, snacks and hygiene essentials. Saints24 is open 24/7 and is credit card only. Due to its location in Gerard Phelan Hall, Saints24 is only accessible to those with University IDs after 6 pm. For more information on Saints24, please visit our Dining Services website.

Ballston Starbucks

One of the most popular locations in our Ballston Center is the Ballston Starbucks, located on the ground floor of the building. This full-service Starbucks location is open to the public and the Marymount community Monday through Friday, 8 am–7 pm.

Lola’s Cafe – Opening Soon

Lola’s Café, a Marymount dining favorite, is moving from Caruthers Hall to the new Reinsch Pierce Family Campus Hub. Offering pre-packaged meals and Starbucks coffee, it will serve as a central gathering place for students. Lola’s accepts dining dollars, cash and credit, and will be open Monday–Friday from 7 am–7 pm and Sundays from 9 am–3 pm. For details on hours and menu options, visit the Dining Services website.

The Main Lawn

 

Marymount’s Main Lawn offers a picturesque setting for a picnic, frisbee tournament or simply a quiet moment between classes. With plenty of shade and seating, it serves as a peaceful oasis in the midst of busy campus life.

Rowley Courtyard 

The Rowley Courtyard is a well-manicured gathering spot for both residents and commuters. Featuring benches, a giant chess set, flowering trees and a serene fountain, it creates a calming and connected atmosphere at the heart of campus.

Ireton Lawn 

The Ireton Lawn serves as the true crossroads of the campus community, with comfortable lawn chairs and ample green space to spread out and relax. With the addition of the new Reinsch Pierce Family Campus Hub, the lawn will soon expand to include a lower quad with a built-in fire pit and seating—an ideal spot for club meetings, casual hangouts or evening gatherings.

Lee Center Patio

Just outside the lower entrance to the Lee Center, students can find the Lee Center Patio, an area complete with shaded tables that are perfect for studying, lunching and soaking up the sun. Located in a high-traffic area, students are bound to encounter friends and peers throughout the day, making the Lee Center Patio a bustling hub on campus.

The space between our Ballston campus and Placemaker Marymount Ballston features tables, greenery and our shuttle stop. This is the perfect area to come for a coffee break or to study with friends on sunny days. 

 

 

 

 

 

Announcing a New Addition to Campus Spaces

Marymount is excited to introduce the Reinsch Pierce Family Campus Hub, a new center for student life in the heart of Main Campus. The Hub features the new Lola’s Café, a campus bookstore, spacious study and lounge areas and a back patio for relaxing outdoors. Open to the public Monday–Friday from 7 am–7 pm (card access only from 7–10 pm) and Sunday from 9 am–3 pm, the Hub offers a welcoming space for both residential and commuter students. Hours for Lola’s Café and the bookstore may vary—visit the University website for details.
