Information Technology for Educators Certificate

This certificate program is designed for practicing secondary school (middle and high school) teachers who wish to enhance their careers and qualify to teach dual-enrollment classes in the vast information technology field. The program covers both the fundamental of technology and specific areas such as database technology. Title IV federal financial aid is not available for this certificate program when taken alone but is available when taken as a component of the M.S. in Cybersecurity or M.Ed. program.

This program is 18 total graduate credits, including these three required courses (9 credits):

  • IT 566: Computer Scripting Technologies
  • IT 540: Enterprise Data Management and Analytics
  • IT 520: Enterprise Infrastructure and Networks

And any three of the following courses (9 credits):

  • EN 571: Technology for College Literature and Writing
  • IT 530: Computer Security
  • IT 537: Computer Forensics and Incident Response
  • IT 546: Principles of Data Science
  • IT 565: Human Computer Interaction
  • IT 630: Information Technology Practicum
  • IT 680: IT Master’s Project
