Larissa Anderson – Freshman Admissions Counselor

Larissa Anderson – Freshman Admissions CounselorHello! I am a somewhat recent college graduate hailing from the NOVA area. I graduated in Spring of 2022 with a degree in psychology and a double minor in women’s studies and African American studies.

Though I was apprehensive at first about attending college, I am sincerely grateful that I pushed through to the end. College can be daunting initially, but I promise after the first 3 weeks or so it is a wonderful eye-opening experience that allows you to explore different academic topics and activities. This is truly a time to find yourself and make memories that will influence you for a lifetime.

Gratefully, I have found a second home at Marymount and have been motivated to pursue a second degree here. I am excited to continue my academic studies at Marymount in pursuing a Masters in Business Administration. Marymount has surprised and excited me all over again about attending school, and I am grateful to work for its students and their families alongside a passionate and caring team.

Outside of Marymount you can find me playing with my many cats, enjoying long evening strolls, exploring DC with friends and colleagues, and day-tripping to the nearest bodies of water.

Best College Search Process Tip

Take your time and start early! Visit some schools in your area to get an idea of what might interest you or be important to you to have on campus. And get involved! Ask friends and school counselors about their experience with a school. Keep track of all the important dates and information shared so the task almost completes itself. Starting early and keeping up to date with college visits is the best way to enjoy the process rather than stress over it.
