Insurance Waiver

Marymount University believes that health insurance coverage is crucial while students pursue their studies. If a student lacks adequate health insurance, their education could be interrupted or even terminated due to an unexpected illness or injury.

Please Note:

Fall 2020 wavier is now closed. Spring 2021 waiver will open on 12/1/2020 and close on 2/18/2021. Please contact SHS if you have any questions.

Who has to complete a waiver?

  • Undergraduate students registered for 12 or more credits
  • Graduate students registered for 9 or more credits during the fall and spring semesters
  • Please note Graduate students that are registered in the summer for 6 or more credits are considered full-time
  • Students who have a change in registration status (i.e. registered as part-time and changed to full-time)

All students that meet the above criteria, will be identified for enrollment in the United Healthcare Student Resources insurance plan and automatically charged for the premium of $1,915. This will be billed to your Student Account as a “line item”.

If I meet the wavier criteria how can I opt out of the school’s plan?

If you have coverage through an individual or family plan, you can waive the university sponsored plan by submitting a waiver. The waiver can be found by logging into myMarymount and clicking “Student Health Insurance Waiver/ Enrollment” under the Sign On Links.
