Trish Nkrumah – Transfer Admissions Coordinator

Trish Nkrumah – Transfer Admissions Coordinator

I grew up in Ghana, West Africa, formerly known as the Gold Coast; a country rich in culture, history, and natural beauty. This vibrant environment provided me with a unique perspective on community, resilience, and the importance of education. The lively traditions, bustling local markets, and the warmth of the people have all played a significant role in shaping who I am today.

I pursued my college education at Marymount University, where I earned a BA in Political Science and a minor in law. My academic journey has been both enlightening and empowering, allowing me to explore my interests and develop a passion for civic engagement.

As a Transfer Coordinator, I’m most excited about the opportunity to help students navigate their academic journeys and make a smooth transition to our institution. It’s incredibly rewarding to guide them through the transfer process, address their unique challenges, and celebrate their successes as they embark on this new chapter.

Outside of work, I enjoy playing tennis, cooking, and listening to good music. Running helps me stay active, and I love exploring new places with friends. Each of these experiences enriches my life and continues to inspire my personal and professional growth.

Best College Search Tip

My best college search tip is to prioritize what matters most to you. Think about factors like location, campus culture, available programs, and support services. Create a list of your top priorities and use it to guide your research. Visiting campuses, if possible, can also help you get a feel for each school. Trust your instincts and choose a place where you can see yourself thriving both academically and personally.
