The Marymount College of Health and Education (CHE) presents the fifth edition of The Health and Education Herald, highlighting key achievements, faculty excellence and student impact as the University concludes a milestone year celebrating Marymount’s 75th anniversary.
This winter issue reflects on a year of growth, community connection and national recognition, including major rankings gains such as Marymount reaching its highest-ever national university position, earning the #1 spot among Virginia’s private institutions for undergraduate nursing and being named to Forbes’ 2026 America’s Top Colleges list. This issue also welcomes new staff, celebrates the launch of the University’s first Alumni Awards and shares updates on the upcoming Spring 2026 launch of the Master’s in Speech-Language Pathology program.
The issue highlights a wide range of faculty accomplishments across the School of Education, Malek School of Nursing Professions and School of Health Sciences, including national conference presentations, published research, major workshop leadership and national spotlights from organizations such as the Council for Exceptional Children, APHA and ASHA. Several new grants and initiatives are also featured, including the creation of a new STEAM Lab supported by Arlington County.
Student activities and achievements are showcased throughout the newsletter, from health sciences students volunteering at Remote Area Medical clinics, to counseling students participating in ACA Hill Day and suicide prevention walks. The issue also celebrates the selection of counseling student Gerizim Perez as a 2025 NBCC Minority Fellowship Program recipient.
Finally, the newsletter offers updates on upcoming global and community engagement opportunities, including volunteer trips to Uganda and Tennessee, and closes with a holiday message to the Marymount community.
