Student Publications

Marymount’s students edit and produce two publications showcasing the best work of their peers.

Student Publications

Magnificat: A Journal of Undergraduate Nonfiction is published once a year, and it features outstanding undergraduate nonfiction writing. Undergraduates from all fields of study, part-time and full-time students, are welcome to submit their work. Magnificat also sponsors an annual essay contest for high-school students, with the winning essays published in that year’s issue of the journal. Each year, the journal is released and winners are celebrated at the Literature & Languages program’s Spring Celebration.

Please consider submitting any nonfiction writing from undergraduate classes completed at Marymount University to Magnificat. Help us expand our publishing repertoire by submitting your work! Any student is welcome to submit up to two essays for consideration per issue. To submit, email your work as an attachment in Microsoft Word to magnificat@marymount.edu (no pdfs). Please include the following information on a cover sheet or in your email: name, course the essay is from, essay title. Be sure to include a complete works cited page, if necessary!
