The Office of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) is here to help support you during your Marymount journey as an F-1 or J-1 status student.
Step 1: Apply for admission to Marymount University
To become a Marymount student, you must first apply for admission through an online application submitted to the Office of Admissions.

Step 2: Review the process and gather information needed to request your Form I-20 or DS-2019.
F-1: Form I-20 is needed if you plan to obtain F-1 status or transfer-in your SEVIS record to Marymount University
- Request an Initial I-20 (new to F-1) and then Apply for an F-1 Visa
- Request a Transfer-In Pending I-20 (current F-1 student transferring to Marymount)
- Change Status to F-1 (in the U.S. in a different visa category)
- Request a Reinstatement I-20 (out of status F-1 student)
J-1: Form DS-2019 is needed if you plan to obtain J-1 status

Create I-20 Processing Time
Once we receive all required documents, the processing time for an I-20 typically takes 7-10 business days. If we have questions or need more information, you will be contacted through your Marymount student email account.
