Every spring, returning students go through the housing lottery and room selection process to decide on their room and roommates for the upcoming academic year. To begin, students complete an application through our online housing software, where they can specify their preferences for roommates, residence halls, and any special needs. Once the application deadline has passed, students are assigned a lottery number that establishes their position in the room selection order. Each student is then allocated a specific time slot to access the online room selection system. Beforehand, students have the option to form roommate groups, allowing them to choose rooms together. The available rooms, along with pertinent details, are displayed for students to review during their designated timeslot. Room selection priority is typically based on seniority. Once a room has been chosen, students finalize their selection by submitting a deposit to secure the room.
