Progress Reporting

Programmatic and financial reporting may be required by the sponsor. Follow the award terms and conditions for due dates of these reports.  Programmatic reports are submitted by the PI with a copy to the Office of Sponsored Programs as well as a copy uploaded to the shared “Box” folder for the award.  Financial reports are submitted by Financial Services.

For federal projects, programmatic and financial reporting is required at least annually but no more frequently than quarterly, unless there are unusual circumstances.  Reporting should be submitted according to the award terms and conditions.  Final programmatic and financial reports are due to the sponsor 120 calendars days after the award expiration.  For subrecipients, the reports are due to the prime awardee 90 days after expiration of the award to allow time for the prime awardee to incorporate information from these subrecipient reports into the reporting to the sponsor.

Failure to submit final programmatic progress reports can lead to a hold on future funding to the PI or Co-PI.  Delinquent reporting after one year will result in the federal sponsor reporting a material failure to comply with award terms and conditions with the OMB-designated integrity and performance system (currently FAPIIS).  The material failure to comply may be viewed by all federal agencies and could result in loss of award funding for Marymount University.  Federal awarding agencies may also pursue other enforcement actions, if needed.

Programmatic reports are the responsibility of the PI, or the Co-PI in absence of the PI.  Once submitted to the sponsor, a copy of the report should be sent to Office of Sponsored Programs and a copy uploaded to the award folder in Box.  Sponsors have the option to return the reports for additional information.  The report is not considered fully submitted until approved by the sponsor.
