Supplemental Instruction (SI)

Supplemental Instruction (SI)

Supplemental Instruction (SI) combines how to learn with what to learn.

What is supplemental instruction (SI)?

Some of the classes you’ll take at Marymount are just hard. That’s where SI comes in.

Supplemental Instruction is a peer-led program that offers free, regularly scheduled study sessions for challenging courses. Sessions are led by students who previously took and succeeded in the class; we call them SI Leaders, and they know how to help you succeed too! They attend the class again with you and prepare and facilitate at least 2 weekly group sessions. SI sessions engage students in additional learning activities around challenging course material.

Participating in SI group sessions is voluntary, but it’s highly recommended. You’ll get to know your peers and learn to study smarter. Data shows that the more you attend, the higher your grade will be! SI is for all students taking the class. Go often! Go early!
