Music Minor

Don’t want to minor, but still want to participate in music? Explore Marymount University’s Chamber Singers and Pep Band opportunities!

Minor in Music beginning in the Fall of 2025!

The study of music broadens students’ cultural knowledge and sharpens analytical skills. The music minor builds this knowledge and these skills through theoretical, historical, and practical coursework in the discipline. Because the study of music should always be accompanied by practical music making, students completing the minor are required to participate in a musical ensemble and are encouraged to take applied music lessons coordinated by the music faculty. The minor in music offers students who are passionate about music the opportunity to deepen their understanding and to contribute to meaningful work in performance.
