Counselors-in-Training

Meet Our Counselors-in-Training:

Anna B. Anna is a graduate student completing Marymount’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling Program. She is passionate about supporting the mental health needs of the underserved population within the Northern Virginia area. She sees seeking counseling services as courageous. She recognizes that everyone has unique circumstances that have shaped who they are. Anna sees value in understanding the client’s perspective and how she can best support them. Anna strives to create a space for the clients to express themselves, learn, and grow. Her therapeutic approach is strength-based and solution-focused.  Outside of her time at the clinic, Anna enjoys reading novels and watching anime with her friends.

Liliana M. Liliana is a first-generation Latina college student whose culture and family values have shaped who she is. Growing up she saw the challenges her parents faced when navigating life in the United States due to language barriers and cultural differences. She wishes to work with Spanish-speaking clients to decrease the stigma and gap that exists in Latino communities. She believes in a person-centered approach when working with clients. Each client is unique in their experience and upbringing. As such, who they are must be considered when working with them. The client has the tools within themselves to grow and cope with life. The therapeutic relationship should be a supportive one where the client feels safe. In her free time, she enjoys writing fanfiction, loom knitting, and spending time with her family.

Gabi S. Gabi is a counselor-in-training who focuses on working with children, adolescents, teens, and families. She uses person-centered, cognitive-behavioral, solution-focused, and strength-based counseling techniques in sessions, but will adapt her methods based on the client’s individual needs.
