Mandatory International Orientation for F-1 / J-1 Status Students

As an F-1 or J-1 international student, you have special requirements that you must meet in order to maintain your immigration status. To help you adjust to life at Marymount and become more familiar with your status requirements, all F-1 and J-1 students new to Marymount University and continuing Marymount students who are new to F-1/J-1 status must attend orientation.

Undergraduate Students (1st year in U.S. college, first time at Marymount, or new to F-1 status)

Graduate Students (first time at Marymount or first semester in F-1 status, includes Graduate students transferring-in)

Additional Information

F-1/J-1 new international student orientations take place in-person, prior to the first day of classes for the Fall and Spring semesters. Plan to spend the full day with ISSS and bring your laptop with you. Lunch will be provided at the Fall and Spring orientations.

If you are starting your program in the Summer term, you will attend a live, virtual orientation with ISSS prior to the start of classes for Session I. Contact ISSS for information.

At the international student orientation, you will meet faculty and staff, learn about Marymount policies and support services, learn how to navigate Marymount’s systems, find out about employment, complete immigration check-in required for SEVIS registration, and more! This will also be a chance to connect with other international students before you meet the larger Marymount community.
