Stephanie Bell

Bio

Stephanie C. Bell is an associate professor in the School of Counseling at Marymount University. She has been a counselor educator for nine years, joining the faculty at Marymount in 2022. She received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education from the University of Mississippi and a Master of Science degree in community counseling from Mississippi College. Dr. Bell currently holds the credentials of a licensed professional counselor (LPC) in both Mississippi and Virginia, is a nationally certified counselor (NCC), is an approved clinical supervisor (ACS), and is approved by the LPC Board of Virginia to provide supervision for counselors in residency.

Dr. Bell currently serves as director of training for the HRSA C-SHARP grant in the school of counseling where she provides continuing education opportunities to site supervisors and licensed professional counselors. She is also an ad hoc reviewer for the Journal of Counselor Education & Supervision. In recent years she has presented at both the Association for Counselor Educators and Supervisors Conference (ACES) and the Southern Association of Counselor Educators and Supervisors Conference (SACES).

 

Teaching Areas

Foundations of Clinical Mental Health Counseling and Professional Ethics, Career Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Internship and Research and Program Evaluation.

 

Research Interests

The effects of sexual assault on college students, trauma-informed teaching and supervision, and professional identity development of counseling students.
