Moira Gannon Denson named 2020 Ones to Watch award winner

Moira Gannon Denson, Associate Professor of Interior Design and an NCIDQ-certified Interior Designer, has been named a 2020 Ones to Watch award winner by the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).
 
The ASID Ones to Watch program identifies rising leaders in the interior design industry who demonstrate exceptional leadership potential and a willingness to push the boundaries of the profession.

“I’ve made a deliberate choice to focus my career path on topics that are inclusive, service to people and betterment, and looking forward,” Professor Denson said. “My day to day is committed to unpacking how design impacts lives both through academia and integrated practices.”

With the leadership opportunity that comes from receiving this award, Professor Denson is looking forward to leveraging her unique perspective to thoughtfully prod and push the boundaries of the interior design profession. 
 
“Marymount University’s Interior Design program has risen to the forefront of addressing critical issues facing human and environmental health in a meaningful way,” explained Linda Sorrento, a Marymount alumna and recipient of the Interior Design Distinguished Alumna Award in 2015. “Moira Denson’s befitting honor as an ASID 2020 Ones to Watch award winner galvanizes Marymount University’s positive efforts for humans for generations to come.”
 
Professor Denson has professional experience in project delivery and interdisciplinary coordination of health care, workplace, hospitality and residential building types at firms such as Gordon and Greenberg Architects, Design Collective, Inc. and Perkins + Will. She teaches undergraduate and graduate students in health, well-being and hospitality studios, sketching and rendering for ideation, as well as advanced graduate seminars in design research.
