Marymount welcomes new freshmen and transfer students on 2019 Move-In Day

The Office of Student Living at Marymount University welcomed new students as they moved into residence halls on campus during our 2019 Move-In Day.

An estimated 230 new Marymount Saints arrived and checked into Butler Hall, Ostapenko Hall and Rowley Hall on Marymount’s campus. Nearly 290 new students overall are moving in throughout the week, leading up to the beginning of the Fall 2019 semester on Monday, Aug. 26. Returning Marymount students will be moving back to campus on Saturday, Aug. 24, and Sunday, Aug. 25.

About 120 Marymount student leaders and athletes teamed up with staff to assist new students and parents to make the move-in process as smooth and friendly as possible. These volunteers helped direct traffic on campus, welcomed new students and their parents, checked them in to orientation and assisted them as they moved into their new residence halls.

The Marymount Class of 2023 is projected to have 427 amazing students. The group as a whole has already demonstrated a commitment to academic success, with an average high school GPA of 3.3. It is also the most geographically diverse class we’ve had in the past five years, consisting of students from 30 states and 31 countries. We’re excited to learn more about our new Saints, and are proud that they chose Marymount to be their home for the next four years!
