Marymount Offering Summer Running Camps

Marymount University will hold a pair of day camps for youth runners this month at the school’s main campus and on nearby trails:

  • A youth development running camp for girls and boys age 8-13 will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day from June 22-26. It will focus on skill development and conditioning. Cost is $310. Each participant will receive a buffet-style lunch in the school’s dining hall, hands-on instruction, a written evaluation from the coaching staff and a camp T-shirt.
  • An elite development running camp will be held for boys and girls age 14-17 from 7:30 a.m. to noon from June 29 – July 3. Limited to 25 athletes, it’s geared toward runners preparing for fall cross-country season. Cost is $200. Participants will receive five days of hands-on instruction, a written evaluation from the coaching staff and a swag bag of goodies.

The camps will be directed by Marymount cross-country and triathlon coach Zane Castro, who has been training endurance athletes at both the national and international level for more than 16 years.

Entries will be accepted until June 19. To register, parents should email their children’s information to our marymountxctricamps email.
