Marymount Encourages Visits During Virginia Private College Week, July 23-28

Marymount University invites high school juniors, seniors and their families — as well as college students interested in transferring— to visit campus as part of Virginia Private College week from July 23-28. Any prospective student who visits MU that week will automatically receive an application fee waiver. In addition, those who visit three or more participating institutions will receive application fee waivers to any three members of the Council of Independent Colleges of Virginia.

“This is a nice incentive to visit our private colleges,” said Fran Reed, Marymount’s associate vice president for enrollment management. “Many students only consider attending public institutions and don’t take a look at what we have to offer. Marymount, for example, can be much more affordable than they may think and offers smaller class sizes and a more close-knit community than can be found at many larger public institutions.”

Marymount is one of 24 colleges taking part in the annual event. Information sessions will be held at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Check-in will be in the Main House. Tours of campus will be available after each information session. Those attending should arrive at least 15 minutes before the session. Campus staff will direct visitors to parking. To register, visit Virginia Private College Week.
