March 2025 Events

March is the official start of spring, and we’re celebrating the beginning of the season all month long! With exciting events for students, faculty and alumni, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. Check out some of our featured events below!

March 5

Ash Wednesday Masses

Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel / 7:30 am, 12 pm and 5 pm

The Office of Ministry and Spiritual Life invites you to embark on a spiritual journey with us this Lenten Season, starting on Ash Wednesday, March 5. We will offer three Ash Wednesday masses on campus at 7:30 am, 12 pm and 5 pm in the Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel. Although it is not a holy day of obligation, all believers are encouraged to come and receive ashes to symbolize the start of this penitential season.

Introduction to Entrepreneurship Workshop 

Reinsch Auditorium / 4:30–5:30 pm

Join Saints Unafraid and the Latinx Student Association for the Introduction to Entrepreneurship Workshop. This workshop will introduce students to the basics of entrepreneurship and self-employment. There will be free food, a chance for students to network with one another and access to entrepreneurial resources. 

March 10–14

Spring Break 2025

Marymount’s Spring Break begins on March 10, and classes resume on March 17. We hope all of our Saints have a restful and productive break. 

March 19

Halo Awards Ceremony and Dinner

Congressional Country Club / 6–9 pm

We welcome all community members to join us on March 19 at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md. for our fourth annual Halo Awards Ceremony! The Halo Awards recognize alumni, faculty and community members for their professional achievements and service to others. Charitable proceeds from the Halo Awards Dinner will go towards the Stay on Track Student Emergency Scholarship in support of Marymount students in financial need. College of Business, Innovation, Leadership and Technology Career Fair 

Marymount’s Ballston Center Campus / 11 am–2 pm (in-person), 5–6 pm (virtual)

Join the Center for Career Development and Community Engagement for the BILT Business & Technology Career Fair 2025! This event is a fantastic opportunity to connect with employers and companies in the business, finance and tech industries. All students are welcome to attend.

March 24

Women and Families in Need Donation Drive

Gerard Lobby / 6–8 pm

Come and donate what you can to women and families in need. This drive focuses on supporting single women and their children who are struggling with homelessness and food scarcity. Desired items include diapers, feminine products, baby clothing, blankets and canned foods. All donations will be given to homeless shelters and churches that support single mothers and women. We encourage all community members to consider donating to support this great cause!

ALOHA Study Open House

Ballston Auditorium / 3:30-6:30 pm

Marymount’s Center for Optimal Aging has launched a transformative study that champions the well-being of older adults—the ALOHA (Arlington Longitudinal Optimal Healthy Aging) study. This innovative community-based project integrates the latest in dementia prevention lifestyle strategies with comprehensive health assessments to empower older adults to age in place in a safe and healthy manner with dignity. To celebrate this milestone, we invite you to the ALOHA Study Open House on March 24. This special event will highlight the study’s goals, share its potential impact on Northern Virginia and offer an opportunity to engage with Marymount officials, faculty, students, community members and the ALOHA team over light refreshments. Free registration is required

College of Sciences and Humanities Career Fair 

Rose Benté Lee Center / 12–4 pm

Join the Center for Career Development and Community Engagement for the College of Sciences and Humanities Career Fair 2025! This event is a fantastic opportunity for students to connect with employers and companies focusing on research, communications, engineering, criminal justice and politics. All students are welcome to attend.
