1. Early Exposure to College-Level Education

  • Dual Enrollment Programs: By partnering with Marymount, high schools can offer dual enrollment courses that allow students to take college-level classes while still in high school. This early exposure helps students prepare for the academic rigor of college and can give them a head start on their higher education journey.

  • Enhanced Academic Preparation: Students gain experience with college-level coursework, which can boost their confidence and readiness for college. This exposure also helps students decide on potential majors by exploring different fields.

2. Access to Resources and Expertise

  • Faculty Collaboration: High school teachers can collaborate with Marymount faculty to enhance their teaching skills and qualify as adjunct instructors for dual enrollment courses. This collaboration enriches the educational experience for students by providing access to higher education expertise.  Marymount may also be able to help support high school faculty to receive certification to become a college adjunct for MU.  Click here to read more about our certificate program.

  • Career and Academic Guidance: Partnerships can facilitate events like the Business Model Design Competition, which exposes high school students to business concepts and career paths, preparing them for future professional endeavors.

3. Enhanced College Readiness and Admissions

  • Competitive Advantage: Students who participate in dual enrollment programs or summer institutes at Marymount can highlight these experiences on college applications, making them more competitive candidates3.

  • College Credits: Earning college credits through dual enrollment can reduce the course load in college, allowing students to explore more electives or pursue additional majors13.

4. Community Engagement and Development

  • Building Relationships: Partnerships foster ongoing relationships between Marymount and local high schools, promoting mutual growth and community engagement. This collaboration can lead to more tailored educational programs that meet local needs.
