Below you will find a listing of scholarships available to students with brief information about the scholarship qualifications.

*Demonstrated financial need is determined by FAFSA data.  Applicants must have a a completed 2022-2023 FAFSA on file to be considered for any need-based scholarships.

College of Health and Education Scholarships

Alexander Christian Croft Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student in the Physical Therapy Scholars Program with either a high school average or college average of 3.3+ and demonstrates financial need.
Ann Leary Finnegan Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time, second-year student in the nursing program with a maximum GPA of a 3.3.
The recipient must also:
Submit a short essay in which they recite a recent experience where he/she has touched the life of a sick or elderly person; must submit a resume, and
Two (2) letters of recommendation (either personal or from a nursing instructor)
The ideal recipient must exhibit Ann’s characteristics of leadership, compassion, and a contagious love of life.
Claveloux/French/Shapiro Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student majoring in Education who also demonstrates financial need.
Daphne Brady/O’Donnell Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a nursing student who maintains good academic standing, a commitment to the health professions and demonstrates financial need.
Diane C. DePodesta Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a degree in nursing and who demonstrates a level of financial need.
Dorothy Efner & Shirley Efner McManus ’79 Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a nursing student who demonstrates financial need and is committed to the profession of nursing.
Elizabeth and Howard Noonan Memorial Scholarship (CHE)
This scholarship is awarded to a second-degree nursing student who has completed at least one semester of the program and maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Or a full-time undergraduate student who has maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA for at least one year and plans to major in Biology with an emphasis on pre-med. The recipient must demonstrate financial need.
Finnerty Sullivan Health Professions Endowed Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need and is pursuing an undergraduate degree in the School of Health Professions. Special consideration is to be given to any student who is or has already worked in the health care field and desires to advance their career.
Leslie Anne Hoover Endowed Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student or second-degree nursing student who demonstrates financial need.
Lettie Pate Whitehead Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate nursing program student with demonstrated financial need (2022-23 FAFSA must be on file).  Preference given to a Christian woman who is a resident of one of the nine specified southeastern states; (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia)
Linda D. Bloomer Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to provide tuition support to a rising senior in the traditional track or last year student in the accelerated track of the Department of Nursing. To qualify the student must demonstrate financial need and have a GPA of 3.2 or higher and plan to become a practicing nurse upon graduation.
Lt. Gen Elmer Rogers and Lt. Col. Wilma Hague (Rogers) Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate who is in the School of Education and is the offspring of a veteran or is a veteran himself/herself; Student must demonstrate financial need and maintain a 3.2+ cumulative GPA.
Marlene Malek Scholarship in Nursing
This scholarship will provide financial assistance to two undergraduate students who are current juniors. To qualify, students must demonstrate financial need (2022-23 FAFSA must be on file) and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher. This scholarship shall renew for their senior year providing they meet the aforementioned criteria.
O’Shaughnessy-Hurst Foundation Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in the accelerated bachelor of science in Nursing degree program and who demonstrates a high level of financial need and academic merit.
Our Sunday Visitor (CSLP) Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a student who is currently enrolled in or has been accepted into the 36 credit CSLP M.Ed program. A student enrolled in the certificate program will not be eligible to receive this scholarship. The student must take either the GRE or MAT unless they have a GPA of 3.0 or a master’s degree; student must be a practicing Catholic; student must be employed as an administrator or teacher in a Catholic School with at least 3-5 years of experience in Catholic education.
Richard and Jeannette Parkinson Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student pursuing a nursing degree within Marymount’s Malek School of Nursing Professions who maintains a minimum 3.0 G.P.A., and has financial need. Preference will be given to students from a high school in the St. Louis, Missouri or Long Island, New York geographic areas.
Richard Eaton Foundation Nursing Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time nursing student who demonstrates a high level of financial need.
Rita Wong Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student who is in good academic and judicial standing in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. The recipient must have a current FAFSA on file in the Financial Aid Office.
Rose Bente Lee Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time nursing student who demonstrates a high level of financial need.
Society of Forty & Eight Scholarship
This scholarship will be awarded to a Marymount student in the Accelerated Nursing program who is a citizen of the United States, plans to work as a nurse in the United States, is a full-time student, has a “B” average or better, with preference given to a military veteran. Applicants will submit an application, a written statement as to their background, reason for choosing a nursing career, their objectives in the career, and how the scholarship will aid them in achieving their goals.
The Lucille & Bruce Lambert Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time, second-degree seeking student in Nursing. They must demonstrate financial need and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.
The recipient must also:
Submit a short essay describing why they chose to work with geriatric patients;
Submit a professional resume and recommendation from a nursing instructor.
The Raja Nasr Endowed Scholarship in Education
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate (3rd or 4th year) or graduate student (min. 6 credits) who is currently enrolled in education courses and is on the education licensure track. Preference will be given to a student with an ESL concentration.
The Virginia Morris Kincaid Foundation Scholarship-Current
This scholarship is awarded to graduate students in the Physical Therapy program who demonstrate financial need. All graduate students in Physical Therapy may be considered. Preference will be given to women, veterans, and veterans’ spouses.
Victoria D. de Sanchez Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to support an incoming or current student with financial need who is majoring in Education, maintains a GPA of 3.2+, and demonstrates interest in Hispanic heritage, culture, and education. Preference will be granted to DREAMers or DACA recipients.
Virginia M. Kincaid Foundation Physical Therapy Scholarship-Endowed
This scholarship is awarded to a graduate Physical Therapy students whose mother and father (or if a single parent home) has an adjusted yearly gross income of less than $50,000 as adjusted by the inflation index.
William Randolph Hearst Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to full-time minority nursing student who demonstrates financial need.
Preference given to students who intend to reside in the United States after completing their studies.

 

College of Sciences and Humanities Scholarships

Daniel Mack Cornell Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student(s) majoring in Communications who maintain a minimum 3.4+ GPA at Marymount or transferred from another institution and has earned a minimum of nine (9) credits. The recipient must display an intent to pursue graduate studies and/or a career in communications or writing. Preference given to U.S. citizens who demonstrated financial need.
Diotima Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a graduate student in Humanities maintaining a 3.5+ GPA with demonstrated financial need. The recipient must also have earned a minimum of 9 credits.
Elizabeth and Howard Noonan Memorial Scholarship (CSH)
 This scholarship is awarded to a second degree nursing student who has completed at least one semester of the program and maintained a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Or a full-time undergraduate student who has maintained a 3.0 cummulative GPA for at least one year and plans to major in Biology with an emphasis on pre-med. The scholarship will be based on demonstrated financial need.
Robert A. Draghi Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate Philosophy major who demonstrates financial need and displays academic merit.
Rosemary Hubbard Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an Arts & Sciences undergraduate who maintains a cumulative 3.3+ GPA and demonstrates financial need.
Victor E. Indrisano Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate senior in the psychology program. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and display high academic potential.

 

College of Business, Innovation, Leadership & Technology Scholarships

Daniel Duro Memorial Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an international masters or doctoral level student majoring in IT or Cybersecurity with a minimum 3.5 GPA and financial need.
Don Lavanty Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student of the MSc Health Care Management Program Dual-degree in Healthcare Management.
New Program Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA from a previous University.
Returning Students: Must have successfully completed a minimum of two full semesters by the term of the award and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above.
Dr. Robert Sigethy Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need and displays academic excellence.
Gloria Spinelli Bohan Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a graduate student enrolled in MU’s MBA program who shows promise and excellence in entrepreneurship. The recipient must maintain a 3.5+ GPA and be in the process of creating or working in a start-up company.
IT/Pablo Enriquez Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who has earned a minimum of sixty (60) credits and has been enrolled at Marymount for at least one full semester. The recipient must be pursuing a degree in Information Technology, and have a 3.0+ GPA at the time of application.  Preference given to students having an affiliation as Hispanic American.
*Award recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA during the term of the award.
Jennifer Tino ’94 World Trade Center Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate in the School of Business Administration who maintains a minimum 3.0+ GPA and demonstrates financial need.
Kazuko Barkey Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student majoring in Interior Design and maintains a minimum 3.0+ GPA. The recipient must also demonstrate financial need.
Margaret A. Cassidy Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a prospective or current undergraduate students; majoring in Information Technology in the School of Business & Technology, computer science, or in any successor program encompassing information technology or computer science. The ideal candidate must retain full-time status in good academic standing; preference shall be given to candidates who identify as part of the LGBTQ community.
Mary Elizabeth Kelley Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a prospective or current undergraduate student majoring in a degree program within the School of Business or the School of Technology including but not limited to: Business Administration, Economics, and Information Technology; full-time status and in good academic standing at the time of application and during the term of the award. Preference shall be given to candidates who identify as part of the LGBTQ community.
Mary Lee Scatterday Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an outstanding Marymount student who is pursuing a degree in the field of art. The recipient must demonstrate financial need and strong academic standing.
Mary Phelan Baynes Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student pursuing a degree who has an intent in retail merchandising and demonstrates financial need.
Marymount Angels Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate studying Fashion Design or Fashion Merchandising & Marketing who showcases leadership in the classroom as specified by faculty. The recipient must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need.
PIM Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who has shown a strong commitment to the fashion program, great academic achievement and exhibits financial need.
Rhett Leverett Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in politics or history; must exhibit academic merit and financial need.
Sadie W. Kyle Business Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in Business Administration and working toward a Bachelor of Business Administration.
The Art of Persistence Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student majoring in fashion design or fashion merchandising & marketing who demonstrates financial need and strong academic standing.
The Charles Miller MBA Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a current candidate in the MBA program who must maintain a 3.0+ cumulative GPA and displays academic excellence and achievements.

Barnes & Noble Textbook Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need.
Circle of Friends-Class of 1968 Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need and a minimum of a 3.0+ GPA.
Class of 1956 Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an entering freshman or enrolled undergraduate who demonstrates financial need.
Class of 1958 Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need and a minimum of a 3.0+ GPA.
Dr. Linda R. McMahon Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who maintains a minimum 3.0+ GPA and has successfully completed 2 years of study at Marymount. The recipient’s accomplishments should be consistent with the University’s mission.
Faculty/Staff Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who meets one of the following criteria:
A current Marymount University undergraduate who has junior status (60-89 credit hours) and is in good academic and judicial standing with the University; OR
A current Marymount University undergraduate who has senior status (90+ credit hours) and is in good academic and judicial standing with the University; OR
A current Marymount University graduate student who has completed a minimum of 9 credit hours, has been accepted into a graduate program, and is not receiving financial aid from their place of employment.
Five graduate students will be chosen.
The student must meet all of the following criteria: Demonstrate high academic achievement and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0+.
Fred Franke ‘95 Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a history major who maintains a minimum 3.0+ GPA.
Henry Carlton and Bessie Burke Newton Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need.
Hiring our Heroes
This scholarship is awarded to students who are former or current service members and who demonstrate financial need.
James Shelton Endowed Scholarship Fund
This scholarship is awarded to a first-year (Freshman or Transfer) who maintains a minimum 2.5 GPA (high school or college) the semester prior to enrolling at Marymount. The recipient must demonstrate leadership qualities through extracurricular activities as well as community involvement.
Other Requirements:
Two letters of recommendation documenting leadership qualities and community involvement
100-125 word essay on “How you have Developed into a Leader”;
*This scholarship is *not* renewable.
John P. and Alice S. Mandanis Scholarship
This scholarship is open to current Marymount students with financial need and high academic achievement.
Lisa Kristen Ola Memorial London Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to two students each semester who are studying abroad in London; Essay requirement
Mary Caroline Spokas Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student who demonstrates financial need.
MU Board of Trustees Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled as a full-time at Marymount and has a minimum GPA of 3.5.
Pablo Coto Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate senior who displays academic excellence, leadership, spiritual commitment, and loyalty to friends. The recipient must also demonstrate financial need.
Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who demonstrates financial need.
Robert Reed Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need.
Sallie Mae First in My Family Scholarship
The scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student entering into his/her freshman year at Marymount. The recipient must also be the first in his/her immediate family to receive a college degree, demonstrate financial need, and maintain a 3.0 GPA.  Preference given to students of Hispanic decent.  The student must also verify that he/she is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Steven C. Virbick Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate student who demonstrates financial need and a minimum  3.0+ GPA.
Student Government Association Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate who has completed a minimum of 12 credit hours, maintains a 2.5 GPA, is in good judicial standing, and exhibits leadership characteristics and qualities within the community, on campus, or in another area.
The Marymount University Alumni Association Board Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a currently enrolled or new student who demonstrates financial need and maintains a minimum 3.0+ GPA. The recipient must provide proof that
They have been an active participant in leadership or volunteer activities on or off-campus; AND
A member of his/her family is a Marymount alumna/us; OR
If not related to an alumna/us, the recipient must provide a letter of recommendation from a Marymount alumna/us.
The Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate student who demonstrates financial need.
Thomas K. Malone, Jr. Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a full-time undergraduate or graduate student who demonstrates financial need.
William P. Ames, Sr. Family, and Leon V. Harrow Family Endowed Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a student who demonstrates financial need.
