Information Technology Minors

Students can focus on one or more of the following IT specialized areas by applying for the embedded minor or by completing five higher-level IT courses.

Applied Statistics Minor
This minor is for students interested in developing highly marketable skills in statistical analysis. 

Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Minor
This minor is for those in technical majors (Information Technology, Computer Science or Cybersecurity) who wish to explore artificial intelligence techniques, from both a technology perspective (hardware and software) and from an ethical perspective, including especially the concept of trustworthy systems of value to society.

Business Analysis Minor
This minor provides students with the specialized knowledge to analyze business processes and improve them through digital transformation. 

Cloud Computing Minor
This minor provides students with the specialized knowledge to support technology implementation on cloud infrastructures, including architecting, developing, and managing systems. 

Computer Science Minor
This minor is for students who plan to be software developers and design and build modern software products. 

Cybersecurity Minor
This minor is designed for students who wish to work in the growing field of cybersecurity, other than in network security. 

Data Science Minor
This minor provides students with the specialized knowledge in the fast-growing field of data science and artificial intelligence. 

Digital Forensics Minor
This minor is for students who wish to investigate digital incidents, both corporate and criminal, and prepare digital evidence increasingly used in courts of law. 

Information Technology Minor
This minor is open to students pursuing a degree other than the B.S. in Information Technology and provides students with a general understanding of the information technology field including computer hardware and networks, information security, database management, and Java software development.

Network Security Minor
This minor provides students with specialized knowledge and skills to work in the administration and security of complex computer networks.
