Bill Kline, AIA EDAC LEED-AP
Board of Directors, Firm Leader, Studio Leader
SmithGroupJJR
As the leader of the Health Studio in SmithGroupJJR’s Washington, DC office, Bill manages some of the firm’s most significant healthcare projects for clients such as the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and the U.S. Navy. They include the National Intrepid Center of Excellence in Bethesda, Maryland, and the Center for the Intrepid in San Antonio, Texas, two of the world’s most advanced rehabilitation facilities for wounded soldiers. Based on the overwhelming success of these and other federal projects, Bill is the sole A/E industry member in a VA workgroup established to streamline the agency’s project delivery process. Bill’s outstanding team leadership and design skills have been recognized with multiple awards. But the ones he’s most proud of are the four BD+C Team Awards he and his team have received, a SmithGroupJJR record. “I have been honored and humbled to work on spectacular projects with terrific, creative and intelligent people,” he says. Always up for a challenge, Bill would like to learn to kitesurf.
