Economic Sustainability
Examples at Marymount
- Marymount has been a member of the Fair Labor Association since its founding in 1998.
- The School of Business Administration (SBA) formed a partnership with a Kenyan Maasai village, establishing and managing an online, sustainable business – Maasai Made – for the sale of crafts that the villagers make.
- Marymount Fashion Design students work with instructor Nettie Graulich on her Malawi Children’s Village Sewing Project, which enables villagers to make a living and raises money for the children of the village who have been orphaned by AIDS. A number of MU students have done summer internships with the project in Malawi.
