eBill Proxy

What is a proxy?

A proxy is someone the student authorizes to act on their behalf on the eBill site.

When you add a proxy, you are granting that individual access to see a summary of your account (balance for each term) and/or the ability to make a payment.
  •  This proxy only authorizes access to your student account balance information.  FERPA (Family Education Rights and Privacy Act of 1974) prohibits the release of confidential information related to a student’s educational record to anyone except authorized Marymount University personnel. Marymount University cannot release any academic information to a third party without prior written consent.  In order to release any other information from your education record, a signed FERPA Release Form must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar. For more details regarding the FERPA form, please click here.

How do I set up a proxy in eBill?

STUDENT:

To set up a proxy, students must log into their eBill via marynet. On the left menu, select User Option, and then View/Add Proxy Access on the drop down menu.

Next, the student will select a proxy from the drop down menu. There may already be a proxy for the student to chose, if not, then select Add Another User.

Complete the necessary information and select the access that you would like to grant your proxy.
Account Summary will allow the proxy to view the total balance of each semester.
Make a Payment will allow the proxy to only make a payment.
General Notification will allow the proxy to view any holds/notifications for the student.

The student will then see the proxy listed as an active proxy. The student may change and/or deactivate proxy authorization at any time.

PROXY:

Once you have been granted access to be a proxy, you will receive two emails. One email will provide information regarding the user name, the other will provide a temporary password. It is important for the proxy to change their password to something they will remember when they first log in. Once you have changed your password, you will be able to view the information the student has granted you access to.
  • Again, this proxy only authorizes access to your student account balance information. Multiple Proxy Authorization

If the proxy would like to only use one user name and password to access multiple accounts, please follow the steps below.

1. One student will need to grant the proxy access.
2. The proxy will then need to save the ID number that is emailed to them, and contact Student Accounts at 703-284-1490.
3. Using the proxy ID number, Student Accounts will then be able to add the proxy information to the additional students. Please note, this does not grant proxy access to the other students.
4. The other students will then add a proxy to their account, only instead of selecting Add Another User, the proxy’s information will already be available to select.

Forgot Password

To reset a password, please visit Marynet. On the bottom right corner of the page, select Reset Password. You will need your seven digit ID number that was emailed to you when you were first granted proxy access.

Change Password

To change your password, log into eBill using your proxy user name and password. Select yourself (not the student) when choosing a user. On the top right where you see your name, click and select Change Password.
