Student Leadership Spring Recruitment

Are you passionate about Marymount University and want to make a greater impact on the campus community? Resident Assistants and Orientation Leaders play an important role in assisting students with their transition and retention to Marymount, by providing ongoing mentoring and support. These roles provide valuable leadership experience and skills, which can be applied in diverse fields and future employment opportunities. In addition, each of these positions provides compensation.


Thank you for your interest in becoming a student leader for the 2022-2023 academic year. The application and hiring process are provided below:

Step 1: Attend a virtual information session to learn more about the available positions and the recruitment and hiring process. Information sessions will be held via Zoom on the following days and times:

Thursday, January 13 12:00-1:00pm
Friday, January 14 2:00-3:00pm
Tuesday, January 18 7:00-8:00pm
Wednesday, January 19 4:00-5:00pm
Monday, January 24 1:00-2:00pm
Wednesday, January 26 6:00-7:00pm
Friday, January 28 10:00-11:00am

Step 2:  Apply on Handshake between February 4, 2022. For the Orientation leader position, search for job number ##5736301. For the Resident Assistant position, search for job number #5807213. All applicants must complete the online application and submit a Career Development approved resume. PLEASE DON’T WAIT TO HAVE YOUR RESUME APPROVED. Upon successful submission of the application, applicants will receive instructions on how to submit two references (at least one must be from a Marymount student, faculty, or staff member. Reference forms are due by February 4, 2022.

Step 3: Attend an individual and group interview during the February 25-27, 2022 weekend. Specific dates and times will be provided to candidates once applications have been submitted. If you have a conflict that cannot be rescheduled, please contact Anne Aichele at aaichele@marymount.edu.

Step 4: Applicants, who are hired, will be expected to attend Leadership Training to prepare for their role as a student leader. Applicants, who are hired, will also be expected to attend at least three leadership workshops (additional information will be provided).
