Laura is passionate about serving students’ health and well-being needs through Marymount’s robust health, counseling, wellness, CARE Team, and Title IX services. Laura earned her Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Denver and her undergraduate degree in English and Psychology from Cornell University. Prior to taking on her current role, she was Director of Counseling Services at Marymount, and she continues to treat adolescents and adults in her private therapy practice. Laura is a DC native and loves the vibrant Marymount and DMV community.

 


Aprile Preller

Aprile enjoys promoting wellness in all aspects of life through physical fitness, wellness workshops, and CARE Team outreach just to name a few. In her current role, Aprile oversees the Office of Wellness while also serving as a Title IX Deputy. Prior to her current role, she served as the Case Manager (OoW) where she led the CARE Team. Aprile earned her Master’s Degree from Marymount University in Public Health Education and Promotion in 2021 while serving as the Women’s Basketball GA Coach. Prior to Marymount, Aprile earned her BS from Salisbury University and earned a Certified Strength & Conditioning Specialist Certification from the NSCA in 2019. As an alumnus and DMV native, Aprile enjoys collaborating with many different groups across campus and in the community to support Saints in their own wellness journey. You may also see Aprile on the sidelines in Converse Gym as she is still serving as a part-time Coach for the Women’s Basketball Team.


Brianna Simmons

Brianna graduated from Marymount University in 2020 with her bachelor’s degree in Psychology! As a former student at Marymount, she was heavily involved in student leadership, various on-campus clubs, and a part of the Marymount’s Honors Program. She is currently obtaining her master’s degree in Higher Education at George Washington University. Brianna has a strong passion to work in higher education with a focus on college students’ overall well-being. As a former student and current staff member, she understands the value of the Marymount community and Marymount support systems for students. With her work as the Office of Wellness Case Manager of Marymount’s CARE Team, she wants to continue to build a community of support that focuses on the wellness and care of our Marymount Saints!
