Biography

Karen Rowe Peck brings rich experience to the faculty at Marymount University
in both academia and direct nursing experience. For 18 years as an adjunct at
George Mason University and over 9 years full-time at MU, Dr. Peck has taught
pathophysiology at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, medical-surgical
nursing, pharmacology and leadership to nursing students, second-degree BSN students and RN-to-BSN students.

During her career in acute care nursing, Dr. Peck has worked extensively in
critical care nursing, emergency department nursing and telemedicine. She has
worked as staff RN, clinical nurse specialist, educator and department director of
a large Level I ED/Trauma Center and flight program.

Dr. Peck maintains national certification in critical-care nursing (CCRN-E) and
specialty certifications in Disaster Management and Burn Care. Additionally, she
is a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing and has
served on the board of her local chapter.
