Biography
Dr. Jiyu Wang joined Marymount University in 2024 as an Assistant Professor of Management. He received his Ph.D. in Strategic Management from The University of Texas at Dallas, where his research focused on strategy and international business. He also holds a Master’s degree in Management in Energy and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Tulane University.
His research centers on mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and strategic alliances, particularly within the context of international business. His work explores how societal factors, technological advancements, and geopolitical tensions influence multinational enterprises’ strategies. He employs a diverse set of theoretical frameworks and research methodologies, including real options theory, sensemaking, and event history modeling, to provide a nuanced understanding of corporate strategies.
He has presented his findings at prestigious conferences such as the Academy of Management Annual Meeting and the Strategic Management Society Annual Conference. His research contributes to the fields of international business and strategic management by examining the dynamic interplay between societal factors and corporate strategy.
In the classroom, Dr. Wang is dedicated to creating a collaborative learning environment that emphasizes critical thinking and the application of theoretical concepts to real-world business challenges. He has taught courses in International Business and is prepared to teach a variety of subjects in Strategy and International Business at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
