Students Invited to Marymount, Other Private Virginia Colleges

Marymount University invites high school juniors, seniors and their families – as well as college students interested in transferring – to visit campus as part of Virginia Private College week from July 24-29. Students who visit three or more participating institutions during the week will receive application fee waivers to any three members of the Council of Independent Colleges of Virginia. They will also be eligible for a drawing for a $500 Amazon gift card.

“Virginia Private Colleges Week offers a great incentive for students to visit our fantastic private colleges,” said Dana Matassino, Marymount’s director of undergraduate admissions. “Many students in Virginia only consider going to public institutions and don’t take a look at what private schools may have to offer them. Marymount, for instance, can be much more affordable than many students assume and can offer smaller class sizes and a community that is hard for large public institutions to duplicate.”

Marymount is one of 24 colleges taking part in the annual event. Tours and information sessions about academic programs, financial aid and the admission process will be held at 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. on weekdays and 9 a.m. on Saturday.

Check-in will be in the Main House. Those attending should arrive at least 15 minutes before the session. Campus staff will direct visitors to parking. To register, go to marymount.edu.
