Senior Art Exhibit Opens Dec. 7 at Marymount’s Barry Gallery

Marymount University invites the public to an opening reception for its annual senior art exhibition, which this year is titled “Location.” The reception is from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 7 at the Barry Gallery on the school’s main campus. Admission is free. Four senior art majors from a variety of backgrounds will display work that includes paintings, drawings and prints.

Altyn Ashyrova, Njoud Alkharji, Elizabeth M. Beach and Krystelle Oliveros will present art they’ve worked on all semester as part of their senior projects. The artists deal with location in different ways: imagery taken from satellite surveillance, global internet waves, trees and nature on campus, and the idea of location of the mind. The exhibition will run through Jan. 16, 2018.

The Barry Gallery, located in the Reinsch Library at Marymount, 2807 North Glebe Road, is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday and Saturday. Admission is free. Access for individuals with disabilities is available.
