New fully-online Physical and Occupational Therapy programs now available at Marymount

Beginning in January 2021, Marymount University will offer new fully-online programs in the Physical and Occupational Therapy fields that are designed to advance the working professional through an innovative educational experience.

These programs, in partnership with Rehab Essentials, feature world-class curricula taught by expert faculty from each profession. The contemporary online format engages students from virtually anywhere when they are ready, on their schedule and at their pace – all with a budget-friendly tuition. By being enrolled as Marymount students, program participants also have access to a diverse online community of peers and faculty.

There are two distinct transitional programs that qualified practitioners can take to enhance their knowledge within their profession. These programs enhance the health care professional’s previous education and elevates it to the doctoral level, enabling them to provide greater care for their patients. Interested individuals can check out one of the following programs:

  • Transitional Doctor of Physical Therapy – BS to DPT, or MS to DPT
  • Transitional Doctor of Occupational Therapy – MS to OTD

For both programs, all courses are delivered in an online format, except a Professionalism Seminar which takes place over the course of a single weekend during a designated semester. All exams are administered online, and faculty are available via written and video-based communication tools.

For both the tDPT and tOTD programs, most students earn their doctorate in one to two years. Throughout the duration of these programs, students gain advanced critical thinking, professional knowledge, behavior and skills to become health professional leaders.

Each program will officially kick off in the Spring 2021 semester, with a start date of January 3. Interested students must submit their application by December 13, 2020, in order to be considered. For more information, please visit the Marymount University/Rehab Essentials website.
