MLK Day of Service hosted by Marymount’s Saints’ Center for Service”

The Saints’ Center for Service recently coordinated with Volunteer Arlington to serve as a host site for the organization’s annual MLK Day of Service on Jan. 20.

The event brought together more than 40 members of the greater Arlington community, including U.S. Rep. Donald Beyer (D-VA). Participants visited campus, connected with the Arlington Street People’s Assistance Network (A-SPAN) and assisted in preparing over 200 bagged meals to distribute to individuals experiencing homelessness in the area.

Student workers from the Saints’ Center for Service, Spirit of Service Scholars, members of the University’s Food for Thought club and various student volunteers aided in event preparation and acted as facilitators alongside Marymount administration and faculty. Their hard work and support ensured a meaningful and successful day of service here on campus!
