Choosing where you will spend your undergraduate years is one of the most important decisions you’ll make — one that we know you are making with careful introspection and consideration. Between researching colleges online and chatting with current college students, we know you’re hard at work trying to find the perfect college for you.
While research is a great start, it doesn’t give you the full picture quite like visiting and experiencing a school in person. That’s why we’re here to encourage you to attend our Fall Open House event on Saturday, October 21 from 10 am-3 pm, so you can prepare yourself for applying to college and joining the tight-knit community at Marymount.
1. Get a taste of college life through the Open House event
As a high school student or as a recent high school graduate, you might not have a solid understanding of what a day in college life is really like. When you attend our Open House, you’ll have the chance to talk to current students and faculty about what life is really like at Marymount — including what the social scene is like, how students stay healthy and fit on campus, what the dining halls and dormitories are like, and what it’s like to learn on a small college campus. In short, it’s important to explore what life is like on a day-to-day basis before choosing if a college is right for you, and our Open House is a great place to figure that out.
2. Be inspired to learn and live with purpose
At Marymount, we believe in learning with purpose. That could mean a lot of things at most colleges, but we’re not like most colleges. Learning with purpose at Marymount means you will be prepared not just for a career, but for all the didn’t-see-that-coming twists and turns your career will take you on the path that marks a fulfilling and contributing life. Our Open House is an opportunity for you to see first-hand just how unique the Marymount experience is. Below, we’ve described what you can expect from getting an education at Marymount:
- You will have terrific opportunities for study and service abroad, from quick hops to semester-long adventures
- You will be a vocal participant in dynamic, small classes
- You will have valuable internships
- You will have faculty who have made their names and reputations in the real world
- You will be minutes from one of the world’s most important and exciting business, arts, financial and political centers
3. Learn about financing a college education
At Marymount, we’re dedicated to giving you a top-notch education at an affordable cost. In fact, you might be surprised to find out just how affordable it is to receive your education here. At Marymount, 97 percent of first-year students receive some sort of financial aid, with an average financial aid package for undergraduates totaling near $32,000. When you attend the Fall Open House, you will have the opportunity to learn about Marymount’s financial aid process and our commitment to helping students afford a quality college education.
4. Experience the diversity of Marymount’s community

With students hailing from all 50 states and 70 countries, Marymount is a leader in preparing students for success in a global economy and an increasingly diverse nation.
