Marymount University Celebrates Founders Day

Sister Catherine Mary Patten – Provincial, Eastern American Province of the Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary – was the featured speaker at Marymount University’s annual Founders Day celebration. RSHM is the university’s founding order.

The celebration began with 10:30 a.m. Mass at the school’s Sacred Heart of Mary Chapel, followed by a luncheon in Gerard Dining Hall, where Patten made her remarks. Throughout the week, the campus community honored the women of faith whose vision and devotion created the foundation Marymount was build upon.

Other events included a campus dialogue on social identity and community engagement and the preparation of care packages for members of RSHM in Tarrytown, New York. RSHM has foundations in 17 countries.
