Marymount Honors Veterans With a Week of Events

In celebration of Military/Veteran Appreciation Week November 5-9, 2018, Marymount honored the military and veteran community through service-oriented and informative events.

Through Operation Care & Comfort, students prepared and decorated care packages for forward-deployed service members.

The Office of Military and Veteran Student Services and MU’s Pattern Makers Club hosted an event making teddy bears for children who have lost a service member to support the Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors.

Military & Veteran Student Services Coordinator Mary Galvan hosted a Military Spouse/Dependent Forum offering connection to other spouses/dependents and information on resources offered to Military family members.

The Office of Military & Veteran Student Services and the Association for Campus Events hosted Operation Gratitude in which students wrote letters to forward-deployed service members. 

And lastly, the annual Veterans Luncheon honored Marymount’s Military Community with guest speaker Rear Admiral Sara Joyner, USN, Director of Manpower & Personnel, Joint Chiefs of Staff.
