Marymount Faculty Art Exhibit opens Oct. 24

The public is invited to a free opening reception for the Fine Art and Design Faculty Exhibition from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 24 at the Barry Gallery at Marymount University. The exhibition will include work from the school’s fine arts, graphics design, fashion design and interior design faculty.

“What makes this show unique is that it will include work in such a variety of media,” said Judy Bass, a professor of fine arts and director of the gallery.

Paintings, drawings, prints, mixed media collage, video, and fiber art will be exhibited by fine art and design faculty members.

Gallery curator, Bass said,“Several of the pieces will be a surprise. I don’t know what exactly they’ll be though I know they’re all good artists. It’s a lot of fun. It’s going to be interesting and it’s always a good time.”

A combined art show is held every few years, she added.

The Barry Gallery, located in the Reinsch Library at Marymount, 2807 North Glebe Road, is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Admission is free.

The exhibit will run through Nov. 24. For more information on the gallery, go to marymount.edu/barrygallery
