Marymount appoints William Bisset as Vice President of Enrollment Management & Student Affairs

After a comprehensive search of candidates, Marymount University has appointed William (Bill) Bisset as its new Vice President of Enrollment Management & Student Affairs. He will start his duties at Marymount on Monday, Jan. 6, and will be a member of the University’s senior staff.

In his role, Bisset will provide leadership for enrollment management and all student services of the University, as well as for strategic short and long-range planning. He will oversee the identification, development and support of strategies and initiatives that allow Marymount to meet its enrollment goals and provide comprehensive services to students.

Bisset’s experience in Catholic higher education spans over 31 years. He spent the last 23 years at Manhattan College where, since 2004, he has served as the college’s inaugural Vice President for Enrollment Management. As the chief enrollment officer at Manhattan, he led recruitment and retention efforts and played a vital role in developing and implementing the college’s annual strategic plan. In doing so, he helped increase applications, undergraduate enrollment and the quality of entering classes.

“His experiences will be very valuable to Marymount as we continue our strong emphasis on recruitment and retention,” said Dr. Irma Becerra, President of Marymount University. “I would like to thank all of the Marymount faculty and staff members who contributed their time and efforts during our candidate search for this position, which resulted in the hiring of an accomplished leader who will drive our enrollment growth efforts moving forward.”

“Throughout the search process, I was particularly drawn to President Becerra’s enthusiasm and vision for Marymount and the crucial role that undergraduate and graduate enrollment growth will play in accomplishing the University’s goal of becoming a leading and nationally recognized Catholic university,” Bisset added. “I am very excited to begin my tenure next month and join the Marymount community at this pivotal time in the University’s history.”

Prior to Manhattan, Bisset held senior administrative positions in the fields of admissions and financial aid at Assumption College and Saint Anselm College. He holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership, Management and Policy from Seton Hall University, an M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts and a B.A. from Saint Anselm College in New Hampshire.
