Arlington, Virginia, Marymount University’s Chris Fiorello was a presenter at the ASCA Donald D. Gehring Academy for Student Conduct Administration, which drew 300 participants July 9-12 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
It is the signature event for the 3,000-member Association for Student Conduct Administration. Twenty-five faculty members were chosen through a selective application process.
“It was a fantastic experience,” said Fiorello, MU’s director of student conduct and academic integrity.
“When I went through the Gehring Academy myself, these were the people who were making a difference in my career. It’s an incredible opportunity to impart knowledge on folks who are now coming into the field.”
Fiorello is a speaker and consultant on issues of gender, masculinity and student conduct with 18 years of experience in student affairs. He joined Marymount in 2010 after serving as assistant director for training and leadership development at American University and as a residence director at the University of Vermont.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in computer animation from Savannah College of Art and Design and a master’s degree in higher education administration from Florida State University. He recently completed his comprehensive exams as a doctoral student at George Mason University and is finishing his dissertation.
