In first-ever Marymount Day of Giving, donors exceed university’s target fundraising goals

Marymount University participated in the national Giving Tuesday initiative for the first time this week, and it resulted in great success thanks to the generosity of hundreds of donors whose support will make a difference in the lives of students and everyone connected to the Marymount community.

Final statistics for Tuesday’s fundraising efforts show that nearly $118,000 was raised during the 24-hour period, with 263 individual gifts from alumni, faculty, staff, board members, parents and friends of Marymount. This exceeded the University Advancement Office’s goal of 250 individual gifts for the first-ever Marymount Day of Giving.

Money raised will be used to enhance Marymount’s academic programs, support Saints athletic teams, fund critical scholarship opportunities for students and more.

“The support of the Marymount community was on full display during our inaugural Marymount Day of Giving,” said Terry Mularkey, Vice President for University Advancement. “Our students will greatly benefit from the generosity of our donors, who are ensuring a bright future for our current and future Saints.”

Fundraising efforts for the Marymount Fund, the University’s annual giving program, will continue throughout the year until June 30, 2020. Support for the Fund advances Marymount by expanding the academic, athletic and social programs available to students, deepening the impact of Campus Ministry and making Marymount accessible to all, regardless of financial limitations.
