Forensic Pathologist who Consults for “CSI” and “Bones” to Speak at Marymount

Dr. Gary Telgenhoff, a forensic pathologist and consultant to the popular television shows “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation” and “Bones” will speak at Marymount University at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 19 in the Reinsch Library Auditorium. The talk is free and open to the public.

“The presentation will speak to reality versus television’s depictions of forensics,” said Vincent Stovall, Marymount’s director of campus programs and leadership development.

Telgenhoff’s presentation will take the audience from the beginnings of CSI through the actual job and reality of forensic science.

In addition to his work as a television consultant, Telgenhoff is the forensic pathologist and deputy medical examiner at the Clark County Coroner’s Office in Las Vegas, Nev. He also works with several authors.

“This should appeal not only to our students who study forensic psychology and other sciences but also to people who like the TV shows and want to know the real stories,” Stovall said. “So come out and get ready to be enlightened!”

Stovall warns that the presentation will contain graphic images that some people may find disturbing.
