Evan Lipp promoted to Vice President of Enrollment Management at Marymount

Marymount University has promoted Evan Lipp to the Vice President of Enrollment Management role. In this elevated position with a seat on President Irma Becerra’s Cabinet, he will oversee undergraduate and graduate admissions, enrollment operations and financial aid while continuing to strengthen Marymount’s enrollment initiatives.

Lipp began his Marymount tenure in 2021, bringing with him over 30 years of experience in enrollment management across several institutions. His specialties include recruitment, strategic enrollment planning, training and development, enrollment marketing and creatively enhancing the campus visit experience.

“Evan’s promotion to Vice President of Enrollment Management is a testament to his outstanding leadership and the remarkable results his team has achieved in recent years,” President Becerra said. “For three consecutive years, he has led Marymount to record-breaking numbers in inquiries, campus visits, applications and deposits. This fall, we are on track to have the largest incoming class in our University’s history. Under Evan’s leadership, we have also streamlined campus visits and events. I look forward to seeing his continued impact as he expands his focus on enrollment growth, access and collaboration.”

During the admissions cycle for the 2024-25 academic year, Marymount received 23,126 inquiries, an 82 percent increase from the previous year. It also received 1,409 campus visits and a record 5,045 applications. Deposits also saw a 15 percent rise, signaling a bright future for the University as it welcomes the Class of 2028.

“I’m excited to have an even greater impact on continued enrollment growth and removing barriers to access so that more students can experience a Marymount education,” Lipp said while reflecting upon his promotion. “What makes working at Marymount so fulfilling is the incredible diversity of our students and the unique learning community we provide. There aren’t many small private universities that offer what we do.”

In his new role, Lipp will focus on enhancing customer service, increasing responsiveness to students and families and eliminating enrollment barriers. He will also continue collaborating closely with University offices in Academic Affairs, Athletics and Student Engagement to ensure ongoing growth and student success.

“My goal is to make a meaningful impact internally and externally, provide greater sustainability for the University and strengthen our recognition across the region,” Lipp added. “I look forward to developing our team, fostering partnerships and driving Marymount’s momentum forward.”

Before joining Marymount, Lipp held leadership positions at Endicott College, Assumption University, Wittenberg University, Saint Francis University, Albion College and Marietta College. He earned a master’s degree from Western Michigan University and a bachelor’s degree from Marietta College. Additionally, Lipp has served on the board and as president of the National Catholic College Admission Association.
