Todd A. Stottlemyer, who serves as a Maximus Federal Services board member and is the former CEO of Acentia, will address 355 master’s degree candidates and 58 doctoral degree candidates at Marymount University’s Graduate Commencement on Sunday, May 17. The event will begin at 2 p.m at DAR Constitution Hall, 1776 D Street NW, Washington, D.C.
Prior to joining Acentia, an information technology and management consulting company, Stottlemyer served as a member of the executive management team at the Inova Health System, was a co-founder and CEO of Apogen Technologies and president and CEO of the National Federation of Independent Business.
In 2006 Washington Smart CEO magazine named him one of its 20 most-admired chief executive officers in the Washington, D.C., area. In 2012 and 2013, he was honored by the Washington Business Journal as one of the region’s 100 most-influential business leaders. In 2014, Virginia Business Magazine honored him as one of 31 people “making their mark on the commonwealth’s economy.”
Stottlemyer is on the boards of Virginia Commerce Bank; the Virginia Business Higher Education Council; the Inova Health System; the Northern Virginia Technology Council, where he is vice chairman; and the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce, where he is a former chairman.
He has lectured for the University of Pennsylvania Wharton School’s Executive MBA Program and is a guest lecturer at the Mason School of Business. He is also rector and chair of the executive committee at the College of William & Mary, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in government. He earned a law degree from Georgetown University and is a member of the Virginia State Bar.
Stottlemyer has served on the boards of several community organizations, including the Ronald McDonald House, the Northern Virginia Community Foundation, and Helping Children Worldwide, an organization he helped found and formerly chaired that is dedicated to improving the health and welfare of women, children and families in Northern Virginia and in Sierra Leone, Africa.
The commencement ceremony for Marymount’s undergraduate degree recipients will be held at 10 a.m. at DAR Constitution Hall. Tony P. Hall, former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture, will address 696 undergraduate degree candidates.
