Active Shooter DRILL in Gailhac Hall

Active Shooter DRILL

in Gailhac Hall

Campus Safety and the Arlington County Office of Emergency Management will conduct an Active Shooter DRILL in Gailhac Hall on Friday, March 20.

Although this is only a drill, you are expected to participate if you are in Gailhac Hall. We will practice techniques that could keep you and others safe in the event of an active shooter at MU.

A campus-wide MU Alert will be sent to announce the start of the drill. If you are not in Gailhac Hall, no action is required from you in response to this alert. Another campus-wide MU Alert will be sent to announce the completion of the drill.

Thank you for your support of this important exercise.

In case of a real active shooter emergency, you should:

  • RUN – If you can safely evacuate the building, do so quickly. Alert others as you exit.
  • HIDE – If you can’t evacuate, lock yourself in a room with no windows. Barricade the door. Remain silent.
  • FIGHT – Fight only as a last resort if you are confronted with the shooter.

See Run/Hide/Fight tactics demonstrated.
