Ballston Coakley Library – 3rd floor
Tailored to offer research resources and library services for all programs offered within Ballston. Ten laptops, two iMacs, and a WEPA express printing station with wireless access for individual and collaborative projects. Group study rooms with comfortable seating, LCD monitors and glass boards, headphones, calculators, USB drives, power cords, and device charging station.

Student Lounges 1st floor – 6th floor
Bold colors and graphics used throughout student lounges on all six floors where students meet and relax. Ballston Center has received numerous honors for design excellence: Award of Honor (Mid-Atlantic Chapter of the International Design Association); Design Arlington Award for Excellence; Award of Excellence (NAIOP Commercial Real Estate Development Association Northern VA chapter); and the 2018 Juror’s Choice Award (Urban Land Institute Washington) for “creative place making – employing art and culture, in tandem with great design – to deliver a refreshing, affordable, creative new face to a project in the greater Washington area.”
Small Conference Rooms & Group Study Rooms – 3rd floor
Designed for both small group work and individual study, conference and group study rooms with LCD monitors and VGA and HDMI video adapters and ClickShare technology to make research and collaboration easier.
Stairwell Nooks 1st floor – 6th floor
Ballston is designed to inspire 21st century learners and reflect the very best Marymount offers in a student experientially driven environment. Stairwell landings incorporate planned study nooks and “circulation spaces” to create intimate hubs to continue classroom interaction. Students can talk, text, or just take in the stunning views from Ballston in the heart of this central business district corridor.
Auditorium – 2nd floor
Every seat in the house is a great seat for lectures, presentations and performances. Advanced audio system includes built-in listening assistance, high-def projection and speaker confidence monitor. Step-floor design funnels attention to center stage – the native Virginia “fumed” oak backdrop.
Forensic Research Room – 6th floor
A forensic research room supports student/faculty collaboration for the first D.C.-area master’s in Forensic & Legal Psychology program.
Finance Lab – 5th floor
The Finance Lab – a glass-walled stock stimulation room with a stock ticker to transact simulated investments – enjoys a high profile location just off the landing on the fifth floor. In the future, it can provide actual trading opportunities for a Marymount investment club. Encouraging hands-on collaboration at every intersection of learning is evidenced throughout every program at Ballston.
Cybersecurity Lab – 6th floor
Six-student pods in the lab use a network of virtualized machines and Cisco corporate level security devices in an interactive, hands-on center to explore data science technology, networking, computer forensics, and cybersecurity issues.
Counseling Center Labs – 6th floor
Four counseling labs are set up just like a counseling center with a large observation room with technology to view all labs at the same time and interact with the practitioner.

Chapel – 2nd floor
Arlington Bishop Michael F. Burbidge dedicated the altar prior to the first Mass celebrated in Ballston Chapel located on the second floor. All are welcome to the chapel – a quiet place for prayer in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament. Masses are celebrated on Thursdays at noon and Holy Days of Obligation. The chapel’s modern feel fits well within the building’s architectural context.

Meditation Rooms – 2nd floor
Available at all hours with comfortable chairs, soft lighting, large pillows, and prayer rugs, a place for personal meditation and reflection. Open to students of all faiths. Qurans and Bibles available.
Cody Art Gallery – 2nd floor
With the opening of an art gallery in Ballston Center, Marymount added a second fine art exhibit space which is designed to feature contemporary work by regional, national and international artists. The gallery was named for retired Sister Irene Cody to honor the important role all sisters play in Catholic education. Located near the Metroline Orange: Ballston-MU, the gallery opens all exhibits to the public. Street parking and Capital Bikeshare are available.

Enriching Green Spaces
Along with the landscaped courtyard, public plaza and connecting walkway, Ballston Center incorporated a ‘green roof’ with plantings for seasonal color (much nicer to look at from class than a shingled roof) that offers habitat for insects, butterflies and birds, and reduces urban heat island effect.

Enjoy your before class latte with floor to ceiling views of the Rosslyn-Ballston Corridor. Graduate students can live right next door to where they study and just a few blocks from the Metro and ride to downtown D.C. Shuttle Service
Marymount’s Ballston Center is located at the intersection of Glebe Road and Fairfax Drive, two blocks from Metro. Shuttle service is available to and from the Ballston-MU Metro station.

Parking
Ballston Center’s parking garage may be accessed from the rear of the building, off N. Wakefield Street. Overflow parking is available in the Arlington Gateway building located across from Ballston Center at 901 North Glebe Road (Monday-Friday, 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., rates vary). Meter parking is available on N. Glebe Road and N. Fairfax Drive.
