At Marymount, we place particular emphasis on your first year of college.

Once admitted to Marymount, the Academic Advising Center picks up where Admissions leaves off.  You’ll communicate with your advisor throughout the summer and have the opportunity to meet them at New Student Orientation.

You will meet regularly with your advisor throughout your first year to build your four-year plan and register for classes. Your advisor is here to serve as a resource for you if you need anything during your first year.

New Student Advising and Registration

As a new first year student, you may have many questions. The information here should answer most of them and will guide you through the steps to complete your class registration:

  • Complete the Directed Self-Placement (DSP)
  • Fill out the questionnaire that your advisor sent to you via email
  • While you wait for your advisor to create your schedule, review the core and major requirements in the Course Catalog
  • Review your course schedule and contact your advisor with any questions or concerns

Generate Your MU Student Account

Your student account will provide access to the Marymount portal, email, Canvas, and other internal Marymount sites. Create your account.

A day or two after you create your student account, you will be able to set up your Canvas account. Canvas is a learning tool used by our campus and is where we house much of our information for current students. Set up your Canvas account and start exploring!

Submit an Enrollment Deposit

Submit your deposit online or return the Enrollment Notification Form that was sent with your acceptance letter, along with your enrollment deposit. We are currently accepting deposits from students starting in the Fall 2024semesters. Make sure to submit your deposit and confirm your enrollment as soon as possible.
